BILL'S DISCOVERIES
Items of interest to RC Modelers
Monocote used to print the entire character set on the back of their trim sheets, making it easy to create your AMA numbers for your aircraft. I notice that they've discontinued that, so graphics were a problem for me. Yeah, you could create them on a computer, but still had a job making them.
PROBLEM SOLVED -
I visited JP's Hobby just yesterday, and noticed that he has a side-business with the vinyl signs you see all over the place. Well, the letters are custom made on a system he has, and the material is very similar to the Monocote material, and has a GREAT adhesive. Simply peel off the group of numbers, lay it on your wing, peel off the backing, and VOILA, a beautiful set of AMA numbers. Jim will make them in any size/color, and also has a HUGE variety of fonts.
This is a sheet he did for me, 2" high, white. The font is 'Arial Black', and has a 5 degree tilt. Prices are VERY reasonable.
Additionally, he has a lot of this material available as 'scraps', that could be used for a variety of things. Visit him and ask, his location is in Seymour, check out the 'Local Dealer' pulldown on the main page.
Stay out of the Trees,
